Privacy Policy

Last update: August 13, 2026

Province Plumbing respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We handle your information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

Who We Are

Province Plumbing is a licensed plumbing and gas fitting business based in Cairns.

Phone: (07) 4234 0123

Email: provinceplumbing@gmail.com

QBCC Licence: 15188107

Gas Licence: L94078

ABN: 54 573 429 324

What We Collect

  • Your name, phone number, email address and the address of the property
  • Details of the job, including what you told us, what we found, what we did and any parts used
  • Photos taken on site to record the job
  • Quotes, invoices and payment records. Card payments are handled by our payment provider and we do not store card numbers
  • Website information such as your IP address, device type and the pages you viewed

We collect it directly from you when you ring, text, email, fill in a form on our website or talk to us on site. Sometimes we receive it from someone arranging the work for you, such as an agent, a builder, a landlord or an insurer.

Why We Collect It

To quote and carry out your job, contact you about it, order parts, invoice you, issue the compliance and warranty paperwork our licences require, handle any warranty or insurance matter later, and keep the records we are legally required to keep.

Who We Share It With

We do not sell your information. We share it only where it is needed to do the job or where the law requires it, including with:

  • Subcontractors and other trades working on your job
  • Specialists we refer you to, where the work falls outside what we are licensed to do
  • Suppliers, for ordering or warranting parts
  • Our accounting, invoicing and payment providers
  • Regulators such as the QBCC, gas and water authorities, where a job needs notification or certification
  • Insurers, builders, agents or body corporate managers arranging or paying for the work
  • Anyone you have authorised to deal with us on your behalf

Some of the software we use stores information overseas. Where it does, we take reasonable steps to make sure it is protected to Australian standards.

Our Website

Our website uses cookies, along with analytics and advertising tools such as Google Analytics, Google Ads and Meta. These tell us how the site is used and whether our advertising is working, and may be used to show our ads to people who have visited the site. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may not work properly if you do.

Contacting You

We use your phone number and email to run the job, including confirming a booking, letting you know we are on the way and texting you back if we miss your call. We only send marketing where you have agreed to receive it, and every message has a way to opt out.

Photos of Your Work

We take photos on site to record the job, and we may use photos of completed work in our marketing. We show the work, not your address or your details. If you would rather we did not use photos from your job, just tell us.

Keeping It Safe

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including password protected systems, limiting access to the people who need it, and confidentiality obligations on our team. No system is completely secure. If a breach happens that is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

We keep job records, invoices and compliance paperwork for at least seven years, as required for tax and business record keeping, and longer where a warranty or a possible claim calls for it. After that they are securely destroyed.

Accessing Your Information and Making a Complaint

You can ask to see the information we hold about you and ask us to correct it if it is wrong. You can also raise a concern about how we have handled it. Ring us on (07) 4234 0123 or email provinceplumbing@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.

If you are not happy with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
